Summer Guide showcases Minneapolis park system
If you’re looking for affordable family fun in Minneapolis, a handy list of great outdoor concerts, or information on the best water parks in the city, check out the 2010 Summer Guide published by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB). The 32-page, full-color guide highlights the park system’s fun-in-the-sun opportunities, such as sandy beaches, community festivals and kid’s nature programs.
The Summer Guide includes listings of free movies and daily concerts in the parks; tips on great local golfing and fishing destinations; and places to eat, let your dog run off-leash, and stop and smell the roses. It features information and fun facts about a wide range of activities, such as summer sports leagues, art classes and teen programs.
As part of the MPRB’s Green Initiative, this year’s guide has been reformatted from an 11” x 17” publication into a convenient and online-friendly 8½” x 11” publication. It is posted on the MPRB Web site (www.minneapolisparks.org – Quick Links – 2010 Summer Guide) to make printing favorite pages easy.
The guide was mailed to patron permit holders and is available at MPRB recreation centers and public buildings, Minneapolis libraries, the Minneapolis Convention Center and by calling 612-230-6400.

Thanks! I’ll check out the website today. I’m planning a visit next week and was hoping to find free things for my kids to do, this will help out immensely.
