A Play Date at the Victory Prairie Dog Park

Attention all dog owners: Camden Community will soon have a dog park located in the Victory Prairie!  The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board approved plans for a new Off-Leash Recreation Area, located along 47th Ave. N between Osseo Rd. and Russell Ave. N, that is set to open later this Spring.  This fenced in dog park will allow well mannered pooches to exercise and socialize off leash.  The park also provides a perfect setting for neighbors to meet and talk about commonalities (their dogs!).

Permits and licensing are required for all Minneapolis Off-Leash Parks.  You can find information and purchase a Minneapolis pet license by visiting www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us or by contacting Minneapolis Animal Care and Control at 612-348-4250.  Applications for a Minneapolis Off-Leash Permit and rules for Off-Leash Recreation Areas are available a t www.minneapolisparks.org .  Permits range from $35 for Minneapolis residents to $60 for non-Minneapolis residents. These permits are valid at any of Minneapolis’ off-leash dog parks.

I’ve been to this park a few times now, and it’s been only me and my dog present. I really want this to take off, but a field’s not a dog park unless there’re dogs there. Am I just going at the wrong times, or is this park generally unvisited?
